Wowza

"C" is for Communication and thanks to our awesome instructor I got it.  Now to try it by myself.  Thanks for hanging with me gals, I'll get it eventually.  I look forward to getting to go to KSD.  Just an fyi, I studied last semester at the itty bitty Danville campus and my two cents is that we should have the entire Deaf Studies/ASLITP program there.  KSD is right there and what a great immersion possibility.

  1. "C" is also for CONGRATULATIONS! I applaud your transparency and willingness to share what's scary! Furthermore, it's a great model to demonstrate tackling that which may scare us or we frankly often don't want to do. So, thank you, Amy! I appreciate you taking the plunge. I'm curious, students, are there other things about this course which cause you angst or may intimidate you?

  2. I'm really excited to visit KSD too! Does anyone know what we will be observing? I know since we are going during class one day, we probably be just meeting with the kids, but who actually knows. I'm excited to get to know you better Amy! You seem fearless!

  3. My uncle ha always wanted me to visit KSD, as that's where he grew up (he's Deaf, too). Since I'm finally getting that chance, I'm excited to work with my ASL skills, and with the kids.

  4. I think visiting KSD will be one of the most exciting things we will do this semester. I am interested in seeing how the campus is set up and how it may be different than a hearing setting. I am also really excited to interact with the kids and see what they can teach me.

  5. I am very intimidated by going to KSD as I have only had ASL 101 (3 semesters ago) and my skills are lacking!!!!!!!

  6. I am only in my second semester here at EKU and I haven't had a ASL class yet. But I am really looking forward to going to KSD, I have never been before. I have been to a deaf school in Louisville and it was the bet thing I have ever done in my life. I really hope to learn a lot from the trip.

  7. I'm really excited to go to KSD and see how the children and to interact with them. Working with kids is one of my favorite things in the world, so I'm excited to be able to do it for class work!
Also, I'm excited to see how the schools run differently or similarly to the public schools I went to and volunteer in. I think it will be fun to compare the different settings and teaching styles.

  8. I am super excited to see how KSD is run differently from DSD (Delaware school for the deaf. I use to keep score at the basketball games at DSD. Now I do not know where Danville is but I hope the drive for you is not too far! I am excited to have 3 classes this semester with you Amy, let me know if you need anything!

    1. Thanks Victoria. You will love Danville. If the class goes at night, maybe we could all go to The Hub and have our own silent coffee night. It's Danville's "Purdy's"
