Why did you choose your major?

Hey everyone, so I know at the beginning of the semester we discussed what our majors were but we didn't necessarily explain the reasoning as to why we decided to pick that major. So this blog is supposed to be a fun, laid back post and all you have to do is tell your major and explain why you chose it! I'll start with mine, as of right now I am currently a pre-OS major with a Special Education minor. I'm in the process right now of wanting to change my major to better fit my personal preferences and what will work best for me for the remainder of my time at EKU. I'm currently stuck between the decision of doing Physical Therapy or Recreational Therapy, but I will still continue to keep my SE minor. The reason behind choosing my minor is because I've always had a personal connection with anyone who is considered to have special needs, no matter what the age may be. I have an aunt who has Down syndrome and is 32 years old I believe, in which I've always had a close relationship with her. So she's really the ultimate reason why I chose to minor in SE, but in terms of my major I'm really just trying to find what is the best fit for me and that allows me to help someone each and every day. Site Visit Thoughts

Our site visit to the Lexington Hearing and Speech center was last Thursday and I thought it went very well. I enjoyed being able to interact with some of the students who were deaf or hard of hearing. They were all sweet children and I feel like most of us even got attached to at least one child there. It was especially nice to get to socialize with some of the people who work in the deaf and hard of hearing field, and get their take on their jobs. It was also pretty awesome to play with the giant parachute! What did you all think about it?

So sorry I'm late on posting, guys, but what are your thoughts on Chapter 10 (no pun intended)? Anything seem interesting to you? I personally like this chapter because I'm really into psychology.

"Move" Saturday the 18th

I just sent Ms. Eubanks an email.  We are all going in so many directions over Spring Break that setting up an actual table is not going to be possible.  Some are there with friends, some are with family, and some are driving up for the day.  It is from 10-3, if anyone wants to meet at a coffee shop or somewhere before it starts, I'm game.  If not, I hope everyone has a wonderful Spring Break and maybe I'll see you the 18th!

Lexington "Field Trip"

I know this may be a little early, but I do want to let you guys know when we go to Lexington on the 23rd, I will be willing to drive 4 other people in my car as long as you all wouldn't care to pitch in a little bit for gas. Just let me know who want to ride with me.

Hey, guys! Does anyone know anymore information about the background checks, or what a background check contains? This is all new territory for me, and I'm curious to get the ball rolling with it. I'm sure I'm not alone with questions about it. Thanks!

KSD Date!

Hey guys! I can't find the date for our visit to KSD, does anyone know when that is? Also does anyone know how long it will take for a background check to process?
