Miscellaneous comments and questions

First off, Mrs. White I hope your procedure went well!
I wanted to share with you guys what I thought was the most interesting part of Chapter 4. I found the part about Congenital losses fascinating! Especially the part about which combination of parents make what kind of baby. The diagrams on pages 70 and 71 are really helpful! What did the rest of you find the most interesting or most important about this chapter? There was so much information in this chapter, it's quite over whelming.
Also, does anyone have any food allergies? I am going to the store this weekend to buy candy for a game to go along with Savannah and I's project next Tuesday.

  1. I found it really interesting how we have some many parts to our ears that help us hear. Knowing this its surprising that there are not more people born deaf or hard of hearing because there are so many little things that could go wrong that could have someone become deaf.

  2. Now I have even more evidence to shake my "mommy" finger at my daughter when she has her headphones up too loud. No food allergies here

  3. I plan on bringing cookies with peanut butter, so just want to make sure no one has food allergies as well! I also had no idea there were so many parts to the ear...how cool!

  4. I really liked learning about the different parts of the ear, especially the inner ear. Talking about the vestibular tubes, and how they deal with balance, helped me understand my cousins condition more. While he has no deafness because nothing else is affected, my cousin's vestibular tubes are severely damaged and this has caused him to have permanent vertigo. So, I really liked learning about that and finding out more about what he goes through, in a way.

  5. I found the genetic component as well as the parts of the ear the most interesting. I have always been fascinated with how genetics works and about the anatomy and physiology of the body works. It is fascinating to learn how each part of the ear interacts with the other parts and how after they perform their function people can hear. There was really a ton of interesting information and I would love to hear more about the inner working of the ear!

  7. I loved learning about the anatomy of the ear; it was truly interesting to see how complex our ear is, but in reality, the outcome seems so simplistic. It's also cool because it ties into some of my other classes that I have, so I'm able to further my knowledge in those courses. Chapter 4 is my favorite so far!

  8. I thought the most interesting part was the inside of the ear! It really made me think about it how intricate our body is, that just 3 tiny bones could decide whether or not the sound in the world around us gets through to us and is interpreted by our brain!
